“Online Dangers”

Going down a highway paved with stone is a surplus of people coming from all over the world and as they travel they sneak upon the web pages that pose threats, and some of these travelers take advantage of the dangers online by employing the tools available to them, in an effort to harm others.

Some of these travelers are Cyber Stalkers, Pedophiles, Hackers, Spies, Crackers, Malicious Distributors, and so forth. How can we protect our children online while millions of people everyday frequents the Internet highway and some of these are straight up predators?

Predators are smart. Some are even geniuses. You can see this sense if predators were ignorant or stupid it would be easier to apprehend them and prosecute them. Serial killers for example take years to apprehend in most instances simply because they are often two-steps ahead of the authorities. Online makes it more difficult since there are no governments or laws actually regulating the Internet. The Internet is bigger than the law, yet even the law has tools to gather evidence while working toward getting these predators offline and in prison where they belong.

The dangers online present parents with problems, which requires immediate resolve, since on this large highway predators are lurking in the dark corners awaiting the opportunity to snag a victim. Once the victim is lured into the trap, it could lead to danger beyond the minds capacity to believe.

How can we prevent danger?
We can prevent danger; however, we can prevent danger from happening to our children by informing them. For example, you could say to your child, I feel encouraging you to stay off major highways and out of roads shows that I love you. If we as your parents did not love you, we would not care where you played. Likewise, we as parents we realize the Internet is a major highway with loads of traffic and some of those visitors are predatory. Again, we love you and want to let you know about, Internet dangers, and how you can help us avoid those dangers.

Notice how I utilized the words (us) and (we) and I feel, or love you. Encouraging the children to join in the decisions is smart, since you are encouraging rather than isolating them from family safety. Always try to start out communication with “I FEEL” rather than I think. Always employ words that make the child feels as a part of the communication and decision-making process.

In the mist of dangers we have to learn what dangers await us, what we can do to avoid those dangers, and how we can {as a community} take the steps to put an end to these dangers, or at most minimizing the dangers.

If you notice, any activities going on over the Internet contact the proper authorities immediately and teach your children to do the same. Enforcing the law is the only way we are going to minimize or fight crime. Now we can learn some helpful tips to avoid dangers.

During research, I unearth some valuable information that will help safeguard your child against online dangers. As you know children today are advanced in technology that most times the Parental Controls do not work since the child is capable of overriding the tools. Therefore, with this in mind we can consider a program that disables your children from resetting Parental Controls. This program is called CYBERSITTER. CYBERSITTER will block sites that are inappropriate more so than many other programs available. An additional feature this program offers is a blocker against hackers. You can get a free download trial version for ten days and thereafter you will need to pay around $40. Still, it is worth to protect your children.

NOTE: Any programs mentioned in this article is a provision from quality research, however it is up to you to make the right decision while purchasing programs for child safety.

“Pornography”

Pornography is one of the leading causes of death, rape, child molestation, sadism, and so forth. Many people will argue otherwise, but history has a record of incidents recorded, which link to pornography. What can we, as parents do when nowadays TV is soliciting sex, media is promoting sex, and magazines as well as videos are encouraging sex? Sex alone has claimed many lives through disease, yet few are taking measures to get these harmful materials off the market.

While there are challengers maintaining that pornography can only be discovered if a person is in the hunt for the materials, there is evidence that these claims are untrue. Pornographic illustrations will, and can come across your screen, in what is known as ‘pop-ups, or by typing a harmless words; also, misspelling words can link you or your child to pornographic materials.

Who utilizes these materials and acts on them? Predators do. Predators prey all over the world, and specifically over the Internet. For example, some photographers with pornographic careers may lure young girls or boys in to engaging in sexual actions. The predators may present cash, or else attempt making the children believe that they will meet movie stars, producers, or other famous people. What a fatal use of attraction, since children often are enchanted with Famous people, and the glory behind these people. The naïve and susceptible souls will sometimes make the fatal mistake of relenting to the predators.

How can we protect our children from pornography and its followers?
It is essential to tell your children why they should not trust anyone in Chat Rooms, as well as teaching them to avoid E-mails and other areas online that pose threats. Let them know that they should only accept Instant Messengers or E-mails from parties known to them. Predators will and have sent pictures of someone else while claiming to this person, yet the real person standing behind the World of Illusion is a child molester, serial killer/rapist, child pornographer, and so forth.

On the market are tracking devices, or inside your computers are devices were you could track your child’s Internet visits. Keep tracking the visits, as well as remaining alert to suspicious behaviors. One of the pitfalls of many humans is that they are afraid to report a crime, due to embarrassment. What a big mistake and immature way to think. Predators will roam as long as people allow them to roam. Therefore, take on maturity, as well as teaching your child that it is okay to report crimes, or suspicious behaviors.

Other steps can include monitoring your child’s e-mails. If you notice any suspicious mails, again report them to the proper authorities. Never take your child and the Internet for granted. More importantly NEVER underestimate a predator, since this is another of the systems fatal mistakes.

Predators are cunning, manipulative, and resourceful. Predators will hunt for victims via Internet, news, television, and through other people. Predators unfortunately are intelligent, which this is obvious since most predators take years to apprehend. Some of the fatal mistakes come from “I think,” or else taking something for granted. If you check your history in fact, you see that most all mistakes made had “I think” at the start of the sentence.

Another idea for protecting your children against online dangers, is taking advantage of the Parental Controls and Popup Blockers. However, children are advanced in technology today, therefore enforce that your child does not violate your parental rights to protect. Use passwords that your child cannot figure out to adhere to the controls that protect children from online dangers, including pornography.

“Avoid Online Dangers”

Teaching your children about the dangers online is helping them to Avoid Online Dangers problems. Parents should teach their children to avoid giving out Instant Messenger contact information through e-mails, newsgroups, or any area online. As well, the children should never provide personal information anywhere online without your permission. It is important to teach your children to use respected usernames while visiting the Worldwide Net. In other words if the child has an e-mail and instant messenger address, make sure the child does not have a confrontational ID. A username such as Sexy Thing may attract the wrong attention and lead your child to dangers.

Be sure to encourage communication between you and your child by keeping the chains of communications open. If you implement the regulations, probably your child will pay attention. If you give your blessing to leniency, you might put your child in harms way.

Dangers online and what to avoid

Dangers online include luring. Predators will use tested strategies to lure children into child prostitution, sex-tourism, sex, and so forth. Child pornography is an emergent transgression, which predators lure children into everyday.

Predators will make an effort to lure a child into his deadly traps, using e-mails, IRC, Instant Messaging, Chat rooms, newsgroups, bulletin boards, and so on. Child Sex-tourism is one of the apex crimes at present. Sex-tourism includes, predators traveling after luring a child in, traveling outside of his/her country to meet with a child intentionally, to engage in sexual actions. You need to teach your children of these dangers to help him or her avoid them.

Put into effect rules that your child will follow to help him/her stay out of chat rooms that are inappropriate to them. Exploit filters and parental controls accessible to you. Inform your children of the dangers online to help him or her avoid such dangers. If your children understand what could happen to them probably the child will expand a respect for danger. Encompassing a healthy, respect for hazards is safeguarding you against dangers both on and off lines.

It is important to teach your children never to give out private information to anyone online without your approval. Teach your children to respect others both on and offline at all times. Let your child know that you will be observing his or her activities over the Internet and if any rules are violated, he or she will loose rights, in view of the fact that there are penalties for disobedience. You can let your child know that you care otherwise those child safety rules would not apply.

Persuade your children to join in family discussions, to assist in deciding the rules, and setting up consequences for misbehaviors. You should also encourage your child to help you find the best tools and safety for protecting your children while online. Let the child contribute in assisting you in deciding with child safety strategies. Let the child know that you will make the final decision. Let the child know too that his or her ideals are precious and that you would take any proposals the children have to present into vigilant deliberation. Keep the lines of communications open at all times. Leaving room for your children to come to you if danger presents itself is essential in avoiding dangers. Let your child know that you will be monitoring activities online, and will enforce the rules.

To avoid online dangers it is wise to stay updated on new dangers and child safety tips. You can use the search bar to research child safety and online dangers.

“Child Safety and Online Dangers”

What can we say about children these days? Polluted television, corrupted Internet sites, contaminated video and board games, and a world lowering its standards, values, and morals each day surround our children.

What’s worse we cannot use Parental Controls anymore to keep our children away from websites in adult nature. Children nowadays are advanced in technology, and sometimes more so than parents. How can we protect our children against online dangers? How can we as parents provide safety to our children, while battling the corruptions going on worldwide?

Parental Controls are available through most Internet software’s, yet today, children are skilled at passing these Parental Controls. What can we do? We can guard our children by monitoring their activities closely on the Internet.

How to use parental controls:
It depends on which Internet provider you have, however, I will speak only of the Internet providers I am aware of, since all programs are different. To use AOL Parental Controls you will need to go to Safety at the Toolbar and click on Parental Controls. Once you arrive, you will see a list of usernames available. Search for your child’s username and click on the username. You will see a popup window appear. Click on Edit Web Control and then click Kids Only, and close. Now your child is guarded against scavenging sites that hold potential dangers.

The Chat rooms pose serious threats against children, since anyone can go into these rooms, and often predators frequent this area, so as to lower children into a web of danger. In the AOL program, click Safety and then click Parental Controls. Next, following the same steps Click on the Edit IM Controls, Edit E-mail Controls, and Edit Chat Control, and follow the same steps as you did to setup the Parental Controls.

It is wise to setup passwords. Passwords will offer additional protection and safety to your child. Do not give the child passwords, since this will give the child control of your Internet connections, and the child, might out of curiosity, reset the controls.

Using your Popup Controllers is wise also, since if you do not turn on the controls, pop ups could corrupt your system, or popup adult content, in which your child will see if online. You can go in AOL Safety at the Toolbar to set these popup guards.

If you are using Internet Explorer, open a page. Click on Tools at the top menu, click Popup Blocker, and then click Popup Blocker Settings. Read the information carefully and set the program at medium. Medium is standard and will block most pop ups. If you set the settings higher than medium you might find it difficult to open websites for browsing.

Some of the dangers online posed to children include, Internet Porn, Harms from Porn, Child Porn, Online Predators, Child Sexual Abuse, Mobile Porn, and more. As you can see, your child is at serious risk, and if you want to master safety, it takes you to monitor, and take the steps to safeguard your child against online dangers.

According to recent studies, students have encountered sexual deviations through webcams, instant messengers, and mobile phones. Additional studies show that pornographic websites out rate CBS, ABC, and NBC, thus making more profit than these television programs alone make in a year. The studies claim that most groups that view porn sites are children. The children are between the ages of twelve and seventeen.

The statistics showed that around 74% of the porn sites had unmonitored banners, while another 66% of the sites did not issue adult content warnings. Yet, another 11% of the sites did not have sexual explicating content warnings, and 25% mousetrapped the visitors, by not allowing them to leave the sites…another 3% of the sites were the only online sites out more than 14 millions adult sites, requested adult permission. Protect your child now!

It is important to learn how to provide your child safety while online, since the dangers can lead to fatalities. Government officials, caring writers, and many others are producing information that will help you to take the steps in protecting your child from online dangers.

The Internet has valuable tools and features that make it convenient for anyone to go online and find nearly anything in the world they desire.

Chat rooms are one of the areas online where children frequent. In the chat, rooms are pedophiles, serial killers and rapists, and the list does not stop here. The chat rooms were structured as a compliment to Bell, and here is where many people visit while utilizing alias to communicate. People from around the globe utilize chat rooms day and night to land a date, conduct business, chat with friends, and so forth.

At what time a person enters a chat room, first they select from a list of features before entering a room. For example, the person will select from a list of titled chat rooms, such as movies, romance, interracial relationships, gay chat, and so forth. Often times the titles are mere names, yet represent something different. People will often use the chat area as a cyber platform rather than communicate the intended subject.

Be aware! Predators prey on children while employing the chat room as a device to snarl his or her victims. Often a predator will manipulate the child, making the child believe that he or she is speaking with someone of his or her own age. After gaining confidence, the predator then moves in for his intended purpose.

The Internet is not only a place for learning, communicating, et cetera; also, the net is a place where predators surf. In the world, you have thieves, rapist, murderers, et cetera, which you may not always come face to face with the culprit in the real world: However, just like the world, the Internet has all types of predators. The downside…with advanced technology, predators can watch you in the comforts of your own home. You will not even know until he or she hits you. All the person needs is access to your IP Address, a bit of personal information, some technical equipment and the culprit is well on his way to gaining access of your life.

Hackers can obtain information to utilize to their advantage, yet hackers are not the only predator that lurks behind the screen. A noted Computer Security Analyst, Dorothy Denning stated: “Completely secured systems are not possible, but the risk can be reduced considerably, probably to a level commensurate with the value of the information stored on the systems and threat posed by both hackers and insiders.”
Media, digital imaging, and other devices have made it possible for a person to view persons in their home.

Child safety is essential. Children are subjected to many influences and are often easily swayed. To learn how you can protect your child from online dangers, take the time to read rules for children, online safety tips and more. Children require a degree of privacy; however, it is essential that you as a parent monitor your child’s activities online. Let the child know that you are aware of the dangers, and that you are not invaded the child’s privacy, rather taking the precautions to protect your child while online.

How to protect your child from online dangers includes open communication. Make it convenient for your child to communicate with you. If your child appears upset over something that happens online, in a loving manner approach the child without accusing him or her, and find the underlying cause of the problem. If you suspect any activities online that is geared toward your child, REPORT it immediately. Reporting crime is fighting crime!
